The Winnipeg Police Service maintained a demanding 24 hours regarding calls for service throughout the city. For much of the night, calls in the queue remained above 150.
Police resources responded to numerous incidents involving intoxicated persons who required safe temporary housing. Other incidents included various serious assaults, weapon incidents and sexual assaults.
The men and women of the Winnipeg Police Service are committed to the citizens of Winnipeg and work tirelessly to serve all members of the public.

Assault – C16-107651
On May 27, 2016 at approximately 11:30 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a male located in the area of Donald Street and Portage Avenue suffering from multiple upper body injuries.
The 21 year old male was assaulted and required immediate medical attention. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition. He was later upgraded to stable.
No arrest(s) have been made at this time.

Stabbing – C16-107746
On May 28, 2016 at approximately 1:10 a.m., a 24 year old male and 33 year old female were confronted by unknown suspects while walking in the area of Flora Avenue and Salter Street.
The suspects demanded property which was refused. The male victim was assaulted and then stabbed in the upper body.
The suspects fled and no arrest(s) have been made at this time.
The victim was transported to hospital and is in stable condition.

Weapon Arrest – C16-107842
On May 28, 2016 at approximately 3:40 a.m., Patrol members responded to the report of an assault at a residence located in the area of the 600 block of Flora Avenue where numerous intoxicated persons were located.
A female partygoer became involved in a dispute causing her to leave the residence. She returned a short time later while concealing a rifle.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded and located the female suspect. She was arrested and the rifle was seized without incident.
A 24 year old female has been charged with numerous firearm related offences. She was remanded into custody.
