Update - Homicide Investigation – C16-138707
   
Male Wanted:
   
As previously released -On July 5, 2016 at approximately 3:50 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Portage Avenue and Donald Street regarding an injured male.
   
The victim, identified as, Cyril Quentin WEENUSK, 26 years of Oxford House, Manitoba was transported to hospital however, succumbed to his injuries.
   
The investigation has determined that the victim had an altercation with a group of people in the area of Portage Avenue and Donald Street. The altercation turned violent and proved fatal.
   
The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit.
   
A warrant of arrest for 2nd Degree Murder has been issued for the apprehension of Geordie Douglas WOOD, 22 years old of St. Theresa Point, Manitoba.
   
WOOD is described as an Aboriginal male, dark hair and slim build. A photo of WOOD is not available at this time.    
   
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact detectives at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
   
If WOOD is located, he is not to be approached, call police immediately.
