Residential Break-In Arrests C16-184834
Between September 3rd and September 5th, 2016, numerous residents in the Sage Creek area were victims of property related crimes. Primarily, vehicles were broken into however; homes were also entered through unlocked doors.
Some of the stolen property includes:
Credit/Debit cards, cash
Electronics
Sun glasses
TV
Cellular phone
Nissan Pathfinder
On September 5, 2016 at approximately 7:00 a.m., East District Patrol members located the stolen Pathfinder, including three suspects in the vicinity of Cassin Crescent and De La Seigneurie Boulevard.
The investigation continued by East District Detectives.
Joran Christopher ANDERSON, 23 years old, Matthew Fraser CAMPBELL, 20 years old and a 21 year old female have been arrested and charged with several property related offences.
ANDERSON and CAMPBELL were remanded into custody. The female was released on a promise to appear.
Commercial Robbery Arrest C16-185167
On September 5, 2016 at approximately 5:00 p.m., a male suspect attended to a grocery store located in the 2200 block of Portage Avenue. While inside, the suspect began filling a shopping cart with merchandise and concealing items within a backpack.
After a period of time, the male attempted to leave the business with the merchandise without paying. The suspect was approached by staff at which time he produced a large knife. The employees backed away and the suspect fled.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service were notified and responded.
A short time later, the same male entered a garage located on Hind Avenue. The suspect began taking various items and upon exiting, he was confronted by the owner. Again, the male produced a knife causing the victim to back away.
West District Patrol members located and arrested the suspect at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the area of Bruce Avenue.
Nicholas Alfred WRIGHT, 41 years old of Winnipeghas been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
Robbery
Break Enter & Theft
Possession of Break in Instruments
Assault with a Weapon
He was remanded into custody.
