Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – C16-210227
As previously released: Winnipeg Police and emergency personnel responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision early this morning.
   
The victims have been identified as:
 
 - Janne LAHTEENMAKI, 35 years, of Winnipeg, and
 
 - Sarah SANDERSON, 36 years, of Dugald, Manitoba

On October 8, 2016, at approximately 1:30 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the 700 block of McPhillips Street for a report of a serious, single vehicle collision.
   
First responders located a vehicle that had collided with a building on the east side of McPhillips Street at Alfred Avenue. The lone occupants of the vehicle were a male and female, both in their thirties. They were transported to hospital in critical condition, however, both succumbed to their injuries.
   
This investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6271.
