Update - Homicide Investigation - C16-208816
As previously released - On October 6, 2016 at approximately 3:10 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 300 block of Springfield Road regarding a serious assault that just occurred.

A 23 year old male was located suffering from critical injuries consistent with being stabbed. Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service transported the male to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.  

The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. A male suspect is in custody and interviews are on-going.

Notifications and the results of an autopsy are still pending.

Grow Operation Arrests - R16-58953 R16-75375

Search Warrants Executed:

On October 5, 2016 members of the Marihuana Grow Operation Unit, with the assistance of West District Community Support, the Tactical Support Team and Patrol members    executed warrants at two residences located in the 500 block of Young Street and 600 block of Rathgar Street.

The following was seized and arrests made:

500 block of Young Street

199 - Cannabis marihuana plants - estimated street value $222,880.00
60 grams harvested marihuana - valued at $600.00
Grow operation equipment - valued at $12,450.00

Over 10 tons of ammunition (.223)  

Two males, 44 and 42 years old are facing several drug and weapon related offences.

600 block of Rathgar Street

208 - Cannabis marihuana plants - estimated street value $232,960.00
Grow operation equipment - valued at $6,720.00

A 41 year old male is facing several drug related offences.

All three accused were released on a promise to appear.
