Aggravated Assault Arrest - C16-228714

On November 1, 2016, a group of individuals were gathered and socializing at a residence located in the 700 block of Dufferin Avenue.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., an argument and eventual physically altercation erupted involving two males.  It's alleged that the suspect assaulted and stabbed a 34 year old male victim in the lower body causing a critical injury. The suspect fled, leaving the victim behind.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service were notified and attended to find the injured male requiring urgent medical care. Attending officers provided emergency first aid until such time the victim was transported to hospital by WFPS in critical condition.
The victim was eventually upgraded to stable condition.
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.  
Jordan OWEN, 22 years have been arrested and charged with the following:
Aggravated Assault
Possession of a Weapon
Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Recognizance
He was remanded into custody.
Child Sexual Abuse Imagery Arrest - R16-59565
In June 2016, an unidentified Winnipeg resident uploaded child sexual abuse imagery utilizing a web based chat room. The upload was identified by the site, at which time the matter was reported and determined that the user was utilizing an IP address located within the city of Winnipeg.
The Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) entered into a lengthy investigation and identified a residence and suspect in the St. James area of the city.
On November 2, 2016, ICE Unit members along with Technological Crime Unit members and Uniform Patrol executed a search warrant at a residence.
An initial forensic review of a desktop computer revealed the presence of child sexual abuse imagery involving toddler aged children.
Further forensic analysis and investigation is continuing.
A 45 year old male resident has been charged with the following:
Possession of Child Pornography
Imports, Distributes, Sells or Possesses for the Purpose of Distribution or Sale any Child Pornography
He was remanded into custody.
