Theft Over $5,000 – Arrest: E17-0738
In mid-February, 2017, Winnipeg Police were made aware of a series of thefts that had occurred at a local outlet of an international shipping company.

Information was received that an employee had, over the period of approximately three months, stolen numerous electronic devices from the company's warehouse where these items were awaiting delivery. The employee then placed the stolen property for sale on the internet, receiving approximately $20,000 for the sale of the stolen goods.

An investigation was initiated by the West District Crime Unit. The suspect was identified as an employee who worked in the customer service department of the involved company.

A 24-year-old male from Winnipeg was arrested by investigators and released on a Promise to Appear.

The total estimated value of property stolen was believed to be approximately $45,000, however, customers suffered no permanent losses from the incident.
