Update - Residential Fire - Investigation - C17-52261
As previously released - On March 14, 2017, at approximately 9:45 a.m., emergency services responded to a working house fire in the 400 block of Aberdeen Avenue.
First responders located a 29 year old female within the residence. She was transported to hospital where she remains in life-threatening condition.
As a result of the on-going investigation led by Homicide investigators, the fire is believed to have been deliberately set.

Update - Homicide Investigation - C17-51335
As previously released -On March 12, 2017, at approximately 10:10 p.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a gunshot heard in the 200 block of Spence Street.
Responding officers located a female outside a residence who sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of being shot. Shania Chanel CHARTRAND, 21 years old of Winnipeg was conveyed to hospital and later pronounced deceased.
This investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
Homicide Investigation - C17-49764
On March 10, 2017, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of an assault that had occurred in the first 100 block of Isabel Street. Responding officers located a male in critical condition suffering from an upper body wound. The 36 year old victim was transported to hospital in critical condition.
On March 11, 2017, at approximately 2:00 a.m., members of the Major Crimes Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team arrested a suspect in the Norwood neighbourhood of Winnipeg.
Nathan Grant JONES, 24 years old, was charged with Aggravated Assault and was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
On March 13, 2017 the victim, Christopher Paul FRASER, 36 years old succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation revealed that the victim and accused had been socializing with friends when they became involved in a verbal altercation. A weapon was produced and the victim was stabbed in the upper body resulting in a fatal injury.
On March 14, 2017 Nathan JONES was re-arrested and charged with Manslaughter. He remains in custody.
