Missing Person - Christine WOOD - Homicide Investigation C16-174340
   
On April 7, 2017, the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit arrested Brett Ronald OVERBY, 30-years-old of Winnipeg, and charged him with Second Degree Murder in the homicideof Christine Wood.
   
Christine went missing in Winnipeg, on the evening of August 19, 2016 and the Winnipeg Police Missing Persons Unit entered into an investigation.   
   
On January 2017, members of the Missing Persons Unit began collaborating with Homicide investigators.
   
On March 21, 2017, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 300 block of Burrows Avenue. Brett Overby was arrested at that time and charged with an unrelated offence. The Forensic Identification Unit remained at this location for several days gathering evidence.
   
On April 7, 2017, a charge of Second Degree Murder was authorized by the Crown Attorney's office.
    
The investigation and search for Christine continues.
