Commercial Robbery – Arrests – C17-94261
 
On May 6, 2017 at approximately 7:00 a.m., three adult males attended a convenience store in the 1000 block of Autumnwood Drive and confronted a lone male employee. 
 
The employee was assaulted and the suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise. A witness observed the incident and contacted the Winnipeg Police Service.
 
Upon arrival, emergency personnel located the employee and he was transported to hospital in stable condition.
 
A K9 unit, with the assistance of General Patrol and Community Support unit members, tracked the suspects to an apartment building in the same 1000 block of Autumnwood Drive.
 
All three males were located and placed under arrest. The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
 
The following individuals have been charged with robbery-related offences for their involvement:
 
- Scott Jason Gibbs, a 26-year-old male of Winnipeg.
- John Edward Hornbrook, a 33-year-old male of Winnipeg.
- Kevin James William, a 35-year-old male of Winnipeg.
 
They have been detained in custody.
 
Commercial Robbery – Arrest – C17-95004
 
On May 7, 2017 at approximately 2:00 a.m., an adult male attended to a convience store in the 800 block of Cavalier Drive. The suspect concealed his identity and confronted a lone male employee with a weapon.
 
An undisclosed amount of money and merchandise was obtained by the suspect who fled on foot. 
 
A K9 unit, with the assistance of General Patrol members, attended and tracked the suspect to the 400 block of Hillary Crescent where the suspect was taken into custody. The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
 
Troy Dean Dumas, a 22-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with Robbery and Disguise with Intent for his involvement.
 
He has been detained in custody.
 
Male Shot – Investigation – C17-95083
 
On May 7, 2017 at approximately 6:45 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of an individual that had been shot in the area of Mountain Avenue and Aikins Street.
 
Upon arrival, General Patrol members located a 25-year-old male suffering from a gun-shot wound to the mid-body. The male was transported to hospital in critical condition.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
