Serious Assault – Investigation: C17-134701
On June 19, 2017, at approximately 11:10 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service Cadets and Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services personnel were in the area of the first 100 block of Martha Street when they were summoned by bystanders to assist a male who had been seriously assaulted.
   
First aid was provided and the 37-year-old male victim was transported to hospital. The victim suffered serious head trauma and remains in critical condition.
   
A suspect in the assault had been identified by witnesses and a short time later cadets located the suspect in the area.
   
Sydney Eric Norman FLEURY, 43, has been charged with Aggravated Assault. He has been detained in custody.
