Aiden is described asCaucasian, 4'0" in height, thin build, with shaggy blonde hair. Aiden was last seen wearing a blue and white coloured camouflage style shirt, grey jeans and was carrying a black backpack with comic characters on it. The victims continued walking and the suspect began to swear at them and then chase them to the basement level. The suspect threatened the adult victim and attempted to the grab the child. The victims were able to run to a parking garage and notify police. They were not physically harmed. On August 30, 2017 officers located and arrested Cory James BUCHANAN, 23-years-old of Winnipeg. The suspect is described as: Caucasian male, 25 - 30 years of age, approximately 6'2" in height, weighing approximately 250 lbs, with short wavy hair, and blue eyes. He was wearing an orange coloured shirt with a black stripe in the middle and tan coloured pants. This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).        Robbery: C17-192999 On August 29, 2017 at approximately 11:45 a.m. Winnipeg Police an 86-year-old female contacted police advising that she had just been robbed in the 1800 block of Main St. The victim advised that shortly after she left the bank and was walking in the area she was knocked over and fell to the ground at which time her purse was stolen. The victim sustained cuts to her elbow as a result. This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. A search of the residence yielded the following items: 75 grams of cocaine 82 oxycodone pills 27 grams of marijuana $1413 CAD 9 mm handgun 10 - 12 gauge shotgun shells Mitchell Stephen Lee BRUNEAU,36- years-old of Winnipeg, Nicole Leah SPENCE, 30-years-old of Winnipeg, and a 54-years-old female of Winnipeg have been charged with: Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations Possession of a Weapon Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2 Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted  Weapon Obtained by Crime Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking Possession of a Scheduled Substance - Marihuana Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000   Drugs/Weapons - Arrest: C17-193562 On August 30, 2017 at approximately 12:25 a.m. general patrol officers spot checked a male the area of Flint St. and Notre Dame Ave. and learned of an outstanding warrant of arrest for the male. Upon arrested officers discovered the male's backpack contained the following items: Sawed-off and modified bolt-action .22 calibre rifle A metal magazine containing five rounds of .22 calibre rifle ammunition A pellet handgun 10.26 grams of Methamphetamine packaged in 23 individual dime baggies Used glass crack pipe Digital Scale and packaging materials Three cell phones $180.00 cash     Sterling Moyer FLETT, 38-years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with: Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking Carry Concealed Weapon, prohibited Device or Ammunition X2 Possession of a Weapon x2 Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition Possession of a Firearm, Restricted Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to               Prohibition Order X2 Fail to Comply with Condition - Recognizance X3      This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Tuesday, August 29, 2017   Firearms/Theft – Arrests: C17-189994   On August 25, 2017, at approximately 3:00 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of a medical incident at a residence in the 100 block of Thomas Berry Street.   Upon arrival of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, a number of firearms were observed inside the house. Members of the Winnipeg Police Service subsequently attended and seized a number of items including the following:   - 3 improvised firing devices. - 6 bicycles. - Various types of ammunition.     Two of the improvised firing devices appear to be "bang stick" style firearms. One, a brown cane, was found to have a spent .410 calibre round inside it. The other, part of a red and white broom stick, had a live .22 calibre round ready to fire.   The last improvised firing device appears to have been removed from an airsoft rifle.   In 2016, the Winnipeg Police Service seized 2 improvised firing devices. So far in 2017, 9 have been seized.   5 bicycles have been confirmed as stolen and have been returned to their owners.   Cory Richard Vincent, a 42-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:   - Possession of a Weapon (x3) - Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime (x3) - Possession of a Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x3) - Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3) - Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations - Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 (x3) - Fail to Comply with Probation Order   Justin Mathew Melo, a 30-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:   - Possession of a Weapon (x3) - Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime (x3) - Possession of a Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x3) - Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations - Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 (x3) - Fail to Comply with Probation Order   Both were detained in custody.    Child Sexual Abuse Imagery – Arrest: R17-69176   On August 28th, 2017, the Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit was notified of a child sexual abuse imagery investigation by the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre.   The ICE unit continued with the investigation and learned that in June 2017, a suspect had created an account on a Russian-based image hosting site and uploaded sexually suggestive pictures of a young female child. In July 2017, additional pictures of the same child were uploaded to the site. In late August 2017, the suspect was observed to make online sexual comments in relation to young children.    A suspect was identified and at approximately 2:45 p.m., members of the ICE unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the Central St. Boniface area. Monday, August 28, 2017    Child Sexual Abuse Imagery – Arrest: R17-68661    On August 25th, 2017, the Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit was notified of an investigation involving police authorities in Australia including the South Australia Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team.     The ICE unit continued with an investigation and learned that between January 2017 and early August 2017, a 6-year-old victim was sexually assaulted at a residence in East Kildonan. Images of the sexual assaults were subsequently shared using an online messaging application with various users.     The arrest of a male in Australia was critical to identifying a suspect.     At approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the ICE and Child Abuse units located the victim and the suspect at the residence in the East Kildonan area. A series of search warrants were executed and numerous electronic devices were seized.     A 28-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:       - Possession of Child Pornography   - Invitation to Sexual Touching   - Makes, Prints, Publishes or Poss for the Purpose of Publication any Child Pornography - - Imports, Distributes, Sells or Possession for the Purpose of Distribution or Sale any Child Pornography   - Sexual Assault   - Sexual Interference     He was detained in custody.     Robbery/Aggravated Assault – Arrests: C17-191576    On August 27, 2017, at approximately 2:45 p.m. a number of young individuals were at a skate park in the 500 block of St. Annes Road when two groups began to befriend each other.     They then left the skate park and went to a nearby wooded area and which time the members of one group attempted to rob the members of the other group.     One victim, a 14-year-old male, was able to flee the area as another victim, a 16-year-old male, gave up his bicycle and undisclosed property. A second 14-year-old male was assaulted in the upper body with a machete causing significant injuries to his upper body including his face. The suspects then fled the area.     General Patrol unit members attended and arrested an 18-year-old suspect in the area of Poplarwood Avenue and St. George Road.     This investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.     On August 28th, 2017, at approximately 12:15 a.m., a 17-year-old suspect was placed under arrest at his residence in the Glenwood area.     At 1:15 a.m., a second 17-year-old suspect was placed under arrest at his residence in the Sir John Franklin area.     Brendan James Jackson, an 18-year-old male of Winnipeg,has been charged with:       - Aggravated Assault   - Robbery (x3)   - Possession of a Scheduled Substance (Marijuana)   - Fail to Comply with Sentence       A 17-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:       - Aggravated Assault   - Robbery (x3)   - Fail to Comply with Sentence (x4)     A second 17-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:       - Aggravated Assault   - Robbery (x3)   - Fail to Comply with Sentence     They were detained in custody.     Aggravated Assault – Arrest: C17-191193    On August 27, 2017, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a male had been rummaging through a garbage bin and throwing waste on the ground in the first 100 block of Carlton Street when he was confronted by an adult male victim who lived in the area.     At this time, the suspect male armed himself with a weapon and seriously assaulted the victim in an unprovoked manner. The victim sustained significant injuries to his upper body and was knocked unconscious.     An adult female heard the assault taking place and exited a nearby building with an adult male security guard. Together, they attempted to stop the assault and provide first aid to the injured male but were assaulted by the male with a weapon as well. The victim female and security guard then fled back into a building.     Using the weapon, the suspect began to damage both a door of the building and a vehicle that had been parked in the area. He then attempted to flee the area but was chased by the security guard and a passer-by.     The suspect entered a nearby building in the first 100 block of Carlton Street and was placed under arrest by General Patrol unit members.     The injured male was transported to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition. The injured female was taken to hospital and suffered injuries to her head. She has since been released. The injured security guard suffered minor injuries.     The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.     Michael Thomas Kerr, a 52-year-old male of Winnipeg,has been charged with:       - Aggravated Assault   - Assault Cause Bodily Harm   - Assault with a Weapon   - Possession of a Weapon   - Mischief under $5,000 (x2)       He was detained in custody.     This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).     Homicide Investigation – Update: C17-184612     As previously released:     On August 18, 2017, at approximately 11:15 p.m., a Division 11 General Patrol unit was flagged down in the area of Sargent Ave. and McMicken St. for a report of an injured male.     Officers located an adult male who had been stabbed. He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he remains.     Members of the Major Crimes Unit have learned that after being stabbed, the victim stumbled onto the roadway at Sargent Avenue near Langside Street where he collapsed.  He may have appeared intoxicated rather than injured. Investigators believe that both pedestrians and occupants of vehicles traveling on Sargent Avenue may have seen the victim as he struggled to remain on his feet.     The victim has been identified as an 18-year-old male. He remains in hospital at this time.     On August 27, 2017, the victim in this matter succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Tyler William Ranville, an 18-year-old of Winnipeg.     This investigation is now continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Sunday, August 27, 2017   Search Warrant/Armed and Barricaded – Arrests: C17-190648   During the morning of August 26, 2017, members of the Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, attended a residence in the 500 block of Sherbrook Street to execute a search warrant related to a drug and firearms investigation involving a known 33-year-old male who also the subject of an arrest warrant.   At approximately 10:45 a.m., this male was observed driving a truck in the area along with a male passenger. An attempt was made to stop the vehicle; however, it fled the area at a high rate of speed and struck an adult female cyclist at Arlington Street and Logan Avenue. After hitting the cyclist, the vehicle then struck a taxicab and continued to flee.   Police attended to the female who was transported to hospital and later released with minor injuries. The driver of the taxicab did not suffer any injuries.   The pursuit ended shortly thereafter and the truck was located abandoned in a back lane of the 1400 block of Magnus Avenue. It was quickly determined that the two suspects had fled into a nearby residence.   A short time later, a 22-year-old male attempted to run out the back of the residence and was taken into custody. He was found to be the subject of a Canada-wide arrest warrant.   The homeowner and lawful occupants of the residence were safely evacuated. The remaining suspect, who was believed to be armed, refused to exit. The house was surrounded and the armoured rescue vehicle was deployed.    After an approximate 9 hour stand-off with repeated demands for the suspect to exit the residence, the Tactical Support Team was able to safely take the suspect into custody.   A 33-year-old male and a 22-year-old male, both of Winnipeg, have been arrested and are facing a number of charges. The investigation is continuing.   The Winnipeg Police Service wishes to thank the public for their understanding and patience while efforts were made to bring this situation to a safe conclusion.   Drug Offence/Break-in Instruments – Arrest: C17-190577   On August 26, 2017, at approximately 8:20 a.m., members of the East District Community Support Unit were conducting directed crime suppression patrols when they responded to a report of an individual who was seen prowling around yards in the area of Dawson Road and Marion Street.   At approximately 8:30 a.m., the male was located and stopped in the 200 block of Goulet Street while riding a bicycle on the sidewalk.   The male initially provided a false name but was identified and found to be the subject of two arrest warrants and breaching a court order.    Numerous break-in instruments including a headlamp, vise-grips, wire cutters and bolt cutters were located on the male in addition to a small quantity of methamphetamine. He was also found to be carrying a razor blade protruding from a wrapped bandage.   Tyler Perry David Gauthier, a 38-year-old male of Selkirk, has been charged with:   - Possession of a Weapon - Possession of Scheduled Substance (Methamphetamine) - Possession of Break-in Instruments - Public Mischief - Fail to Comply with Probation Order - Operate a bicycle on a sidewalk with a rear wheel diameter larger than 410 mm (Highway Traffic Act) - Warrant – Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x2) - Warrant – Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x4)   He was detained in custody.   Obstruct Police Officer – Arrest: C17-191142   On August 27, 2017, at approximately 12:30 a.m., an East District General Patrol unit was responding to a high-priority incident with their emergency lights and sirens activated.   As they traveled southbound in the first 100 block of Archibald Street, a teenage male began to push multiple delineators/pylons from an active construction zone into the path of the cruiser car.   The cruiser car was required to swerve to avoid a collision and came to a stop. The male immediately threw a machete towards the ground and attempted to flee on a bicycle. Friday, August 25, 2017   Carjacking – Arrests: C17-189399   On August 24, 2017, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a 51-year-old male victim had parked his car in the 2300 block of Pembina Highway and had begun to walk away when he realized he had left his keys in the ignition.   Upon returning to the parking lot, he saw a number of suspects inside his vehicle as it began to drive away. The victim ran to the vehicle, which was now at Dartmouth Drive and Pembina Highway, and attempted to open the front passenger door.   The driver of the stolen vehicle sped off, turning northbound onto Pembina Highway. The victim was dragged approximately 10 feet and suffered minor injuries before the vehicle fled the area.    A West District General Patrol supervisor quickly located the stolen vehicle in the area of Point Road and Pembina Highway. With the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, the vehicle was brought to a stop in the 300 block of Osborne Street.   Three suspects were arrested and taken into custody. An airsoft firearm and machete were located on the male suspect.
