Male Shot - Arrest: C17-179504
On August 12, 2017 at approximately 8:15 p.m., Winnipeg Police were alerted to a male lying in a back lane near Boyd Ave. and Parr St., yelling that he had been shot. Officers attended and located a 32-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The male was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition. His injuries are serious but not life threatening.

On August 13, 2017 general patrol members located and arrested a 32-year-male. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault and several firearms related offences and detained in custody.


Male Shot: C17-179796
On August 13, 2017 at approximately 2:40 a.m., Winnipeg Police were alerted to an injured male in the area of Salter St. and Redwood Ave. Officers attended and located a 28-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper back and head. The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition where he was treated and later released.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).


Homicide Investigation: C17-180360
On August 13, 2017 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Winnipeg Police were alerted to the sounds of a possible assault in the 100 block of Killarney Ave. Upon arrival officers located a 29 year-old-male, unresponsive and not breathing. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service attended and advised the male was deceased.  

This investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).


Robbery: R17-65613
On August 14, 2017 shortly after midnight, a male was communicating with a female over a popular on-line dating website. He then made arrangements to meet at a residence in the first 100 block of Tyndal Ave. Upon entering the residence, the male was assaulted by several unknown persons and robbed of his personal belongings. The victim was able to escape and flee the residence; however, he was pursued by his attackers and assaulted a second time in the area of Burrows Ave. and Tyndall Ave. He was able to escape to safety.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his upper body.
