Robbery - Arrests: C17-211332

On September 20, 2017 at approximately 6:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police responded to the report of a residential robbery in the 1100 block of Selkirk Ave. It was reported that the suspects were armed with Firearms.

The victim advised that an unknown number of people forcibly entered his residence, assaulted him, produced a firearm and demanded money. The suspects demanded the victim's car keys and fled with two vehicles.

On September 21, 2017 at approximately 1:30 a.m. Officers observed one of the stolen vehicles being operated in the area of Main St. and Bannerman Ave. A traffic stop was conducted and a 21-year-old female was taken into custody. She was in possession of 7.5 grams of Methamphetamine.

On September 27, 2017 at approximately 2:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police members observed the second stolen vehicle being operated in the area of Charles St. and Manitoba Ave. A traffic stop was conducted and an adult male and three adult females were taken into custody. A can of pepper spray, .60 grams of methamphetamine, score sheets, scales and several cell phones were seized from within the vehicle.

On September 30, 2017 at approximately 3:44 p.m. general patrol officers and members of the tactical Support Team attended to the 1600 block of Ross Ave. after the reports of the firearm seen at this location. Police located five shotgun shells and an inoperable shotgun in the residence. An adult male and an adult female were taken into custody. It was determined that the male was responsible for the residential robbery on September 20, 2017.

Nicole Charlene BRUNET, 25-years-old of Winnipeg

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance of the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order X9

Heather Elizabeth PITSANIUK, 20-years-old of Winnipeg

  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Possess Weapon X2
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession if Unauthorized x2
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance of the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order X2

All arrested persons were detained in custody.

Drug - Arrest: C17-219068

On September 28, 2017 members of the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crimes Unit entered into a drug investigation. 

On September 29, 2017 at approximately 10:25 AM, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Tactical Support Team executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act Search Warrant in the first 100 block of Fairgrove Bay.

 

With the assistance of the Winnipeg Police Service K9 Unit, police were able to locate the following items within the residence:

  • 578 grams of Cocaine
  • 850 grams of Cannabis Resin
  • 113 Pills of 40 mg OxyContin
  • 400 grams of cutting agent
  • Cell phone, packaging material, and drug mixing equipment
  • $ 31,050.00 CDN currency
  • .32 caliber handgun, with one loaded magazine chambered and another loaded magazine
  • .9 mil handgun, with one loaded magazine chambered
  • .9 mil handgun, with one loaded magazine chambered

 

Total amount of drugs seized is valued at approximately $59,260.00

 

Kevin William LAVALLE, 33-years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:

  • Produce a Scheduled Substance - Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedules Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking X3
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm X3
  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations X3
  • Possess Weapon X
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm X2
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of a Firearm, prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime
  • X3

Weapon - Arrests: C17-221303

On October 1, 2017, at approximately 4:45 p.m., a 17-year-old male boarded a Winnipeg Transit Bus near the intersection of Main and Manitoba. The male was in possession of an 18-inch machete, which he concealed down the left leg of his jeans.

Winnipeg Police Service foot patrol members were present on the bus and observed the handle of the machete sticking out of the male's waist band. Officers were able to safely arrest the male on the transit bus.

A 17-year-old male has been charged with Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Carry Concealed Weapon.

Stabbing - Arrest: C17-220848

On October 1, 2017, at approximately 2 a.m., Winnipeg responded to the report of male stabbed in the area of Main St. and Selkirk Ave.  

The investigation revealed that dispute took place between several parties which resulted in an adult female being assaulted, causing her to fall to the ground and further assaulted.

 

During this confrontation, an adult male was stabbed serval times in the upper body. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

 

Tyson Cody LITTLE, 26-years-old, of Winnipeg has been charged with Assault and detained in custody.

Serious MVA/Pedestrian Collision: C17-221069

On October 1, 2017, at approximately 11:13 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Logan Ave. and Quelch St. regarding a serious collision involving a female pedestrian.

The female was transported to hospital in critical condition where she underwent surgery. She remains in critical condition.

Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Central Traffic Collision Investigation Unit continue to investigate. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Central Traffic Division at 204-986-6271.
