Fraud - Arrest: C17-230975
On October 12, 2017 at approximately 5:20 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a male using a stolen credit card. General Patrol members attended to a hotel in the vicinity of the James Richardson Airport where they located an adult male in the company of an adult female. At this time, officers observed several suspicious items related to fraud and identity theft.
The following items were seized:
- driver's licences in the names of other people
- cheques drawn in the names of other people
- notes containing identity and credit card information of numerous people
- laptop computer
- laminating papers
- break-in tools
Justyn Barry BOURNE, 30-years-old of Red Deer, Alberta has been charged with the following offences:
- Fraud Under $5000
- Possess Break In Instruments
- Unauthorized Use of Credit Care Data
- Identity Theft
- Possession of an Identity Document X2
- Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 X2
- Possession of Instruments to be Used to Commit Forgery
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
He was detained in custody. The adult female was found to be wanted on a warrant, she was released on a Promise to Appear. The Winnipeg Police Financial Crime Unit continues to investigate.
