Robbery - Arrest: C17-222335
On October 2, 2017 Winnipeg Police were called to the 300 block of Kennedy St. for the report of a male, armed with a firearm, assaulting security guard at this location.
   
Members of the Winnipeg Police Tactical Support Team responded and upon observing the suspect in the area of Kennedy St. and Ellice Ave., the suspect pointed a handgun at the officers while travelling in their vehicle. Officers stopped and the suspect fled while continuing to point the handgun behind him towards officers.
   
The suspect male was located in the rear parking lot of Portage Place and taken into custody. A replica handgun was located nearby.
   
The victim reported that he was confronted by the male who was attempting to gain entry to a building in the area. When the male was refused entry he removed a handgun, pointed it at the victim, threatened to shoot him, and attempted to rob the victim of his personal belongings. The victim was able to escape and notify police.
   
Oliver SCOTT, 29-years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Mischief Under $5000
  • Pointing a Firearm X2
  • Public Mischief
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance X3
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2

 
He has been detained in custody.
   
Stabbing - Arrest:C17-221599
On October 2, 2017 Winnipeg Police were notified of a male stabbed in the 300 block of Ellice St. General Patrol members attended and located a 19-year-old male with upper body injuries. He was transported to hospital in stable condition.
   
Officers searched the area and located a suspect male a short distance away.
   
The investigation revealed that a verbal confrontation took place between the victim and the suspect which quickly escalated. A second suspect stabbed the victim numerous times in the upper body and head area causing the victim to fall to the ground. Both suspects continued to physically assault the victim as he lay on the ground. They then left the area on foot.
   
Tyrone James BARKMAN, 21-years-old of Garden Hill, Manitoba has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Probation X2
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance X2
