Child Sexual Abuse Imagery - Arrest: R17-81617
On October 5, 2017, the Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit was notified of an investigation involving the New Zealand Digital Child Exploitation Team. New Zealand Police reported that between September 26 - 26, 2017 several images of child sexual abuse were shared in an on-line chat room by a male from an IP address determined to be located in Winnipeg.
   
On October 5, 2017, members of the ICE Unit, with the assistance of members from the East District Station, executed a search warrant in the East Elmwood area of Winnipeg. A short time later, an adult male was arrested at a residence in the Central Burrows area.
   
Iain Alexander TOD,25 -years-old, of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:

  • Sexual Assault
  • Sexual Interference
  • Possession of Child Pornography
  • Imports, Distributes, Sells or Possess for the Purpose of Distribution of Sale any Child Pornography
  • Makes, prints, Publishes, or Possess for the Purpose of Publication any Child Pornography

 
He was detained in custody. Forensic analysis and the investigation are continuing.
