Motor Vehicle Collision: C17-279773
On December 13, 2017, at approximately 6:00 a.m., emergency services personnel responded to the intersection of St. Anne's Rd. and Fermor Ave. for a serious motor vehicle collision.
The two-vehicle collision involved a half-ton truck which collided with a 4-door sedan (taxi cab). A female passenger from the taxi was conveyed to hospital in critical condition. The male driver of the truck was conveyed to hospital in stable condition. Two other occupants of the taxi were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Winnipeg Police Traffic Division extends their thanks to the many citizens who reached out and provided assistance which was invaluable to the investigation.
This investigation is continuing by members of the Traffic Division. Investigators are looking for witnesses to this collision. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6271 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
Homicide - Arrests: C17-279729
As previously released:
On December 13, 2017 at approximately 2:35 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the 100 block of Charles Walk for the report of an injured person at this location.
Upon arrival, general patrol officers located two adult males suffering from serious injuries; one unconscious and not breathing. Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Both males were transported to hospital in critical condition. One adult male was pronounced deceased a short time later. The second adult male suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital at this time.
Update:
Both victims suffered multiple stab wounds.
The deceased has been identified as Jordan Thomas, 18-years-old of Winnipeg. A second adult male remains in hospital in critical condition at this time.
A 17-year-old male and two 14-year-old females have been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder and Attempt Murder. All three have been detained in custody.
