Robbery - Arrest: C17-274106
On December 5, 2017 at approximately 8:30 p.m. an adult female contacted the Winnipeg Police Service advising that her husband was being assaulted at a convenience store in the 500 block of Ellice Avenue.  General Patrol and a Canine Unit responded and were advised that the suspects had fled on foot. Officers were able to contain the area and a the Canine Unit was able to track the location of the suspects to the 500 block of Sargent Avenue.
   
Charles KANIKI, 18-years-old of Winnipeg has been arrested and charged with Robbery and Fail to Comply with Recognizance (x5). He was detained in custody.
   
Another adult male has been arrested and charged with Robbery and a third adult male has been arrested and charged with Robbery and Possess Weapon. Both males were released on a Promise to Appear.
   
   
Update: Homicide - Arrest: C17-166069
As previously released:
On July 27, 2017, at approximately 7:45 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a residence in the 100 block of Euclid Avenue for a report of an injured male.
                                                                 
Upon arrival, officers located both a 29-year-old male and a 31-year-old female who had been stabbed. The victims were transported to hospital in critical condition. The female was upgraded to stable condition; however, the male has succumbed to his injuries.

On November 24, 2017, the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit requested the public's assistance in locating Edmond CHARTRAND, 29-years-old, of Winnipeg. 
   
On November 30, the Winnipeg Police Service advised that the Homicide Unit had located and arrested the suspect. 
   
Edmond Wayne CHARTRAND, 30-years-old was located and arrested in Edmonton, Alberta, with the assistance of the Edmonton Police Service. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Attempt Murder. Chartrand was detained in custody.
