Assault Police Officer – Arrests: C18-95193
 
On May 9, 2018, at approximately 4:15 a.m., a Division 11 General Patrol unit responded to the report of two individuals breaking into a vehicle in the area of Logan Avenue and Quelch Street.
 
Upon arrival, a male and female were found inside the vehicle. As officers attempted to arrest the individuals, the male became combative.
 
An officer was punched in the head and the male attempted to grab at both the officer's baton and firearm. The other officer deployed a Conducted Electrical Weapon (CEW) which caused the male to let go of the firearm and flee.
 
At the same time, the female started the ignition using a key that had been left inside the vehicle and reversed it approximately 3 meters. Officers used a CEW to safely take her into custody.
 
Additional units arrived to assist and the male was located nearby in the 1500 block of Logan Avenue. An officer was bitten on the hand as the male was taken into custody.
 
Three officers suffered minor injuries.
 
Andre Ricardo Laidlow, a 43-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Assault a Peace Officer (x3)
- Resist Peace Officer
- Disarming a Peace Officer
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
 
Jennifer Ashley Disbrowe, a 34-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Resist Peace Officer
- Driving While Ability Impaired
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
 
They have been detained in custody.

On May 10, 2018, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a Division 11 General Patrol unit responded to the report of an erratic female at a shelter in the 100 block of Henry Street.
 
Upon arrival, officers located the female in the area. Attempts were made to detain her and she immediately became combative. Both officers were subsequently bit on the hands/arms.
 
Additional units arrived to assist and the female was taken into custody. An officer was kicked repeatedly in the chest and another officer was kicked in the thigh.
 
Two officers attended to hospital for treatment. One other officer suffered minor injuries.
 
Karly Dee Davis, a 30-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Assault a Peace Officer (x4)
 
She was detained in custody.
