Drugs - Arrest: C18-127941
On June 16, 2018, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Division 13 Community Support Unit and General Patrol officers observed a male wanted on a warrant exiting an address in the 500 block of Redwood Avenue. The male was placed under arrest and taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of approximately $1200 cash.
   
Officers learned that the male left his personal bag in a nearby taxi. Upon retrieving the bag, officers discovered that it contained the following:
   

  • 97 grams of methamphetamine, street value of approximately $9700.00
  • 6 grams of marijuana
  • 4 grams of cocaine
  • A vialcontaining an unknown brown sugar like substance
  • 2 Fentanyl blotters
  • Packaging material
  • Working digital scale

 
Ronald Brian JACKSON,a 30-year-old male of Winnipeg was charged with:

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Marihuana
  • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Fail to Comply with Probation
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

 
The suspect was being investigated by Division 11 Community Support Unit members resulting in the outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was in connection to an incident where approximately 132 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of crack cocaine, assorted opioids including, oxycodone, carfentanil tabs, heroin, powdered fentanyl and other unidentified drugs were seized from within a vehicle.
   
The warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possess Weapon X2, Fail to Comply with Probation Order and Possession of Oxycodone was executed and he was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
   
   
Weapons - Arrest: C18-129262
On June 17, 2018, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Division 14 Community Support Unit members conducted a traffic stop in the area of Watt Street and Talbot Avenue. Upon speaking with occupants of the vehicle, officers observed signs of drug trafficking. The occupants were asked to exit the vehicle and placed under arrest. An adult male passenger of the vehicle was found to be in possession of a loaded .32 caliber handgun which was holstered to his hip. Upon searching the male further, a small amount of methamphetamine and several hydromorphone pills were found.
   
Ronald Jason LEATHWOOD, a 39-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:
   

  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon, prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order X2
  • Possession of Scheduled Substance-Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Scheduled Substance - Hydromorphone

 
He has been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
