Gun Amnesty: June 1 - 30, 2018
The Winnipeg Police Service in conjunction with all Manitoba Police Services continues to encourage citizens in Manitoba to voluntarily turn in all types of weapons, including pellet guns and ammunition, as part of the 2018 Manitoba Gun Amnesty initiative.

Citizens interested in having unwanted, unregistered, or illegal firearms or ammunition safely and legally removed from their homes are asked to call the local police service's non-emergency number. You will be asked to provide some information about the item and officers will arrange a pickup time. Items will be safely disposed of. Citizens are asked not to attend police stations in person with the firearms or ammunition for everyone's safety.

Charges will not be laid against individuals unless it is established that the weapon being turned in was used to commit a crime or was stolen.

Citizens are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to dispose of unwanted firearms and ammunition, ensuring that these weapons will not fall into the wrong hands.
