Drugs and Firearms – Arrest: C18-142013 The Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit has been conducting a crime suppression project in the District 3 area over the past number of weeks.
On July 2, 2018, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers observed a male committing an offence under the Highway Traffic Act in the area of McGregor St. and Redwood Ave. The male fled on foot when police attempted to speak with him. The male was caught after a short foot chase. At the time of his arrest he was found to be in possession of a loaded, .25 calibre handgun, ammunition, digital scales as well as small amounts of methamphetamine and marihuana and $355 in Canadian currency.

The accused was detained in custody.
Drugs and Firearms Arrests: C18-142013 On July 1, 2018, at approximately 10:30 p.m., General Patrol officers from Division 11 were dispatched to a hotel in the 200 block of Main St. to check the wellbeing of a child where a caller had expressed concerns over the child's welfare.
The suite door was open by an adult female. At that time police observed a table in the suite with money, cell phones, scales, white powder and bags of white powder. An adult male and a child were also seated at the table. Officers entered the room and arrested the adults. Police also located a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition. Street drugs valued in excess of $5,000 were seized as well as $3400 in currency.
The child (4 years) was placed in the care of Child and Family Services.
