Robbery - Arrest: C18-133760
On June 22, 2018, at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hold alarm at a financial institution in the 1100 block of Rothesay Street. Staff advised that a male armed with a large knife entered the bank and demanded money, which he was provided.
   
On June 21, 2018, a 2001 Chrysler Sebring was stolen from the 900 block of St. James Street. On June 30, 2018, the vehicle was located abandoned and examined.  
   
Forensic evidence obtained from both scenes linked a suspect male to both incidents.
   
On July 3, 2018 members of the Major Crime Unit located and arrested the suspect.
   
  Rudy Alfred OLSON, a 32-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:
  Robbery
  Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2
  Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  Disobey Court Order X2
  Break of Recognizance
  Possess Weapon
   
   
Fraud - Arrest: R18-39110
On June 24, 2018, a 51-year-old female reported that she was driving in the area of Eric St. and Beliveau Blvd.  when she was stopped by a male in a White Ford Crown Victoria who activated an emergency dashboard light. The driver of the Crown Victoria approached the complainant, showed her a small badge and indicated that he was a law enforcement officer. After a brief conversation, the male left. The female obtained the vehicle information and contacted police to verify who the male was.
   
The suspect vehicle was found to be unregistered and officers were able to identify the driver.
   
On July 3, 2018, the suspect male was located and taken into custody. A 38-year-old male of Winnipeg was arrested for Personating a Peace Officer and various highway traffic act offences. He has been released on a Promise to Appear.
   
   
Male Shot - Investigation: C18-143348
Members of the Major Crimes Unit are investigating a male shot and seeking further information. On July 4, 2018, at approximately 3:40 a.m., a 17-year-old male attended a hospital in Winnipeg suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He is currently listed in stable condition.
   
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
