Wednesday, December 16, 2015     Drug and Weapons Arrests – R15-92421 Recently, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit became involved in a drug investigation regarding the trafficking of drugs at a residence in the 1100 block of Tanner Street.  As a result, officers obtained a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant. On December 8th, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and Patrol members, the warrant was executed. A 19-year-old male, located within the residence, was arrested without incident. A search resulted in the seizure of the following: ·       30 grams of Cocaine with an estimated street value of $2400.00 ·       16 grams of Marihuana with an estimated street value of $160.00 ·       Drug paraphernalia ·       Loaded .45 calibre semi-automatic handgun ·       Loaded .22 calibre revolver ·       Bear spray The investigation continued and on December 15th, 2015, investigators located and arrested two other involved individuals. Tristan James Reeve SMITH, 19-years-old a 44-year-old female and 48-year-old male all of Winnipeg are facing numerous weapon and drug related charges. Tristan SMITH was remanded into custody. FRANKLIN was last seen in the Shaughnessy Park area of Winnipeg during the evening hours of Sunday, December 13th, 2015. FRANKLIN is described as an Aboriginal female, 5'5" tall, approximately 135 pounds, thin build, brown eyes and long straight hair. Her hair is black on top fading to light brown on the ends. She was last seen wearing a maroon winter jacket, blue hooded sweater, light/faded blue jeans and black Jordan runners. Tuesday, December 15, 2015   Festive Season Check Stop Program - Week #1 Results The Winnipeg Police Service Central Traffic Unit has provided the results from the first week (December 1st-10th, 2015) of the Festive Season Check Stop Program.  882 - Vehicles stopped 51 – Roadside breath tests administered 9 – ASD warnings resulting in 72 hour driver's license suspensions issued 12 - Drive Impaired / Drive Over 80mg% / Refusal charges 50 – Traffic related Provincial Offence Notices (PON) issued 1 – Drug related arrest The Winnipeg Police Service strongly encourages all motorists to have a plan in place before you go out this holiday season and throughout the year. Friday, December 11, 2015         Homicide Update – Arrest - C14-174517 As previously reported, on August 17, 2014 at approximately 1:30 p.m. a body was recovered from the Red River in the area of the Alexander Docks.     The victim was identified as 15-year-old Tina FONTAINE. RYLE is currently wanted in regards to two separate assaults that occurred in the Winnipeg area. RYLE is described as:Aboriginal, 5'9" tall, 150 pounds with straight, short black hair. The investigation is continuing by members of the West District Crime Unit.
