Assault with a Weapon Arrests – C14-244635
On November 15, 2014 at approximately 12:30 a.m., three individuals attended to a restaurant located in the 400 block of Westwood Drive.
 
While there, they became intoxicated and belligerent with staff. As a result of their rude and inappropriate behaviour, they were ask to leave and escorted out of the premises by security. While being escorted out, one of the suspects produced a canister of pepper spray and discharged it directly at two security guards.
 
While security staff was attempting to subdue the suspect armed with the pepper spray, a female suspect then produced an electronic control device. She discharged it, making contact with one of the security guards.
 
Despite the assaults against them, security staff was able to control the situation and all three suspects were arrested and taken into custody by Patrol members.
 
Alvin MASON, 44 years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Assault with a Weapon x 2
Uttering Threats x 2
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Probation Order x 2
Possession of a Weapon
Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
 
He was remanded into custody.
 
Sheena GAGNON, 28 years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following due to her alleged involvement:
 
Assault with a Weapon
Uttering Threats x 2
Possession of a Weapon
Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Possession of Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine
 
She was remanded into custody.
 
A 21 year-old male is facing the following charges:
 
Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
Possession of a Weapon
 
He was released on a Promise to Appear.
 
 
Weapon Arrests – C14-245122
On November 15, 2014 at approximately 10:00 p.m., two females were parked in a vehicle while waiting to pick up a family member from work in the area of the 200 block of Regal Avenue.
 
While parked, two disguised suspects, one of which was armed with a handgun approached the victims in the vehicle. The suspects initially confronted them by tapping on the window with the gun. The driver immediately fled in the vehicle, however while doing so, one of the suspects pointed the gun directly at both victims.
 
Patrol, Canine and members of the Tactical Support Team responded. Both suspects were located hiding in a field nearby.
 
Members of the Canine Unit also recovered a BB gun, (357 magnum replica) in the immediate area.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued the investigation.
 
Franco CHARTRAND, 25 years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Disguise with Intent
Pointing a Firearm x 2
Possession of a Weapon
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Probation Order 2
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
 
He was remanded into custody.
 
Moses SWAN, 19 years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Disguise with Intent
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
 
He was remanded into custody.
