Assault With A Weapon Investigation – C16-4180
On January 6, 2015, shortly before midnight, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 500 block of William Avenue for the report of an injured male.
   
A 45-year-old male was located suffering serious injury to the upper body as a result of an apparent assault.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he remains at this time.
   
It is believed that the victim was assaulted by a group of individuals.  He was later located by a passer-by who contacted police.
   
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
