Serious MVC – C16-104342
On May 24, 2016, at approximately 12:30 a.m. emergency services personnel attended to a serious motor vehicle collision in the area of Archibald Street and Messier Street involving a single motorcycle.
   
The 44-year-old male driver was transported to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
   
This investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6271.
   
   
Vehicle Robbery – C16-104102
On May 23, 2016, at approximately 6:00 p.m. police responded to a report of a theft of a vehicle that had just occurred in the area of the 400 block of Furby Street.
   
Officers learned that the female victim, in her mid-thirties, had left her vehicle running at the rear of her residence. She returned a short time later to find a male suspect had entered her vehicle and was attempting to flee. The victim attempted to intervene and was dragged a short distance before the suspect drove off. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries as result.
   
The victim had left personal items in the vehicle, as well as two small dogs. General Patrol officers searched the area and located the stolen vehicle a few blocks away. The dogs were returned to the owner, unharmed.
   
A male in his mid-twenties was arrested and faces charges of:
   
  - Robbery
  - Assault with Weapon
  - Theft under x 2
